Scholarship Fund

Each year the Kansas City Co-Ordinating Council Scholarship Fund provides over $6,000 in scholarships to music students in colleges and universities in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The Kansas City Co-Ordinating Council of Sigma Alpha Iota is the charitable arm of the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter, the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter Patronesses, and the Tau-Sigma Patroness Chapter of SAI. The Scholarship Fund is managed by The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and administered by the Kansas City Co-Ordinating Council of Sigma Alpha Iota. The scholarships are awarded each year through an audition process.

The 2008 - 2009 Scholarship Auditions will be held in March 2009.

The Kansas City Co-Ordinating Council is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions to the Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Contributions made in honor or memory of another person will be promptly acknowledged to the family of the deceased individual or to the honoree.

$1,500 — Diamond Sword Scholarship in honor of
Edythe McNown and Dixie Lou Morris
$1,000 — Alumnae Scholarship (closed—SAI’s only)
$1,000 — Patroness Scholarship
$1,000 — Martha Lee Cain-Tranby Memorial Scholarship
$1,200 — Alumnae Memorial Scholarship .
$1,200 — Second Century Scholarship
